Windows 11 compatibility: Find out if your computer meets Microsoft’s requirements

Windows 11 was released last week. (Here’s our Windows 11 review), and it raised significant compatibility issues. Since Microsoft’s first major Windows OS update in six years, the question of compatibility has been a constant concern for many PC users. According to a blog post, Windows 11 should be compatible with all PCs. Although Windows 11’s official release date is finally here, compatible devices may not get the upgrade until mid-2022. Microsoft suggests that you wait until then to download, install, and activate Windows 11.

It was disappointing that Microsoft’s tool to determine device compatibility, the PC Health Check app, wasn’t up-to-standard when Microsoft announced Windows 11. Some reports didn’t provide enough information about why devices weren’t compatible. The company removed the app temporarily. Microsoft’s PC Health Check has been restored to working order. This app will check if your computer is compatible with Windows 11. If it doesn’t, it will inform you and give you links to further support.

This is not the only way you can check if your device works with the free asenna windows 11 upgrade. For more information on checking Windows 11 compatibility with your device, please read the following. The Windows 11 release day is finally here. However, it will be a staggered rollout so it’s a good idea for you to test your computer. If your device does not meet the eligibility requirements, you might need to replace it by 2025. Microsoft will gradually phase out Windows 10 in the coming years.

Option 1: To check if your computer is capable of running Windows 11, use Microsoft’s PC Health Check App

These steps will help you determine if your computer meets the requirements of Windows 11.

1. Microsoft’s PC Health Check. Click Install to open the file. Make sure that the box that says Open PC Health check is ticked, then click Finish.

2. The app’s home page appears and says “PC Health at a Glance”. A box at the top reads “Introducing Windows 11.” Click To Check Now.

If your machine isn’t compatible, you’ll receive a message saying, ” Your computer doesn’t currently meet Windows 11 system requirements.” More information can be found below.

Download the Windows 11 update if your computer is compatible. Although the official Windows 11 release date is Oct. 5, Microsoft plans to roll out the update in stages, so many devices won’t see it until 2022.

Option 2: Use the WhyNotWin11 app for Windows 11 compatibility testing

A free app called WhyNotWin11 can be used as an alternative to the PC Health Check app. Github’s app was created by an independent developer and is less user-friendly. However, it will provide more information about compatibility issues and give more details. TechRadar has more information on how to use it for determining your device’s compatibility with Windows 11.

Option 3: Go to Microsoft’s system specifications page for Windows 11.

Windows 11 promises new features and design ideas for Windows 11. Apart from haptic feedback for pens, I haven’t heard anything to suggest that I’ll be missing out on any new features by purchasing a new laptop.

Based on the information available, I believe you can proceed with your purchase of a Windows laptop without any worries. If I have any additional information that changes my opinion, I will let you know.
